Folks, there’s a lot of great songs from the last couple of years I missed. I just don’t have the time to listen to every single album that comes out, and thus I miss many noteworthy songs. This week’s playlist is here to try to rectify this tragedy. Ok, ok, is it really a tragedy that I missed a few songs? Maybe that’s an exaggeration. Regardless, I’ve gone through a few lists of suggested songs from different websites and picked several that I feel I should have listened to.
In some cases, I knew the song, but only listened to it once or twice. In some cases, I had never heard the song. I know some of the bands on this playlist quite well. However, there are a few artists I’ve never heard of before. Oh yeah, all of these songs are less than two years old. Hence the “new” part, though I guess a two-year-old song really isn’t new. But whatever.
So, which artists appear on New and Noteworthy Songs? Mogwai, Belle & Sebastian, Throwing Muses, The Psychedelic Furs, The Pixies, The Mountain Goats, Aimee Mann, Suzanne Vega, Superchunk, and so many more. Again, there are a few bands I’ve never heard of, and several I know well. So this playlist will be quite the mix. But I promise, all of these songs truly are something you’ll want to hear. And yes, some of these are covers. But they are covers you’ll want to know.
Enjoy New and Noteworthy: Listen to This Volume 4.

More Noteworthy Songs in Listen to This
If you’re paying attention, you’ll notice the alternative name for this playlist is Listen to This Volume 4. So, what does that mean? At the beginning of the AudioPerfecta days, I imagined myself giving the world a pair of headphones and saying “Listen to this!” The “Listen to This” series of playlists is pretty much me doing this very thing. I find a bunch of songs that are just amazing, and I wrap them together in a neat little package for the rest of the world to enjoy. Usually, I don’t have a theme, it’s just a list of songs that I think the rest of you need to hear. So, in the spirit of Listen to This, Listen to Volume 1, Volume 2, and Volume 3!
Rock on, and Rock Steady Everyone.
