Dracula, Frankenstein, Werewolves, Zombies, and the like. That’s the theme of this week’s playlist. Why? Because it’s October, and thus the spooky season. Ooooooooo! We’re spooking all month long, with special playlists based on spooky themes. Ooooooo! Ok, ok, I’ve had way too much caffeine, but my point is โ this is week 2 of our Halloween theme. And this week’s theme is Monsters Ate My Brain!
What kind of monsters do you ask? Warren Zevon sings about Werewolves of London, while Alice Cooper asks us to feed his Frankenstein. Sheb Wooley warns us of the Purple People Eater, while TMBG tells us how to Cyclops Rock. Godzilla makes an appearance via Blue รyster Cult, while “Weird Al” sings about Dinosaurs gone wild in Jurrasic Park. Beck, Misfits, Spike Jones, Jonathan Coulton, Tom Petty, Metallica โ they all have scary stories of scary monsters! Heck, even The Jackson 5 warns us of the Boogie Man. It’s all in fun though, there are no such things as monsters. Oh look, someone is at my door. What is with those teeth and that fur and those claws and…..AHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!
Don’t worry, I’m alright. I hope you enjoy this week’s playlist, Monsters Ate My Brain.

You monsters ate my brain last week!
Or, at least you should have. I started last week’s playlist with Baba O’Riley. Why would I start a playlist about magic with that classic song from The Who? Because, uhhh, โย I was thinking Baba Yaga. Yeah, music nerd fail. Whatever.
Regardless, come back all October long for more Halloween fun! There are two more scary playlists planned, and even a featured article coming your way. Oh, and if you like scary stories, make sure to visit my other website โ every October, I write a scary story for your enjoyment. This years’ is bone-chilling, to say the least.
Until next week, rock on, and rocksteady. And stay spooky!
