You don’t know the date of your death. My dad was annoying the neighbors with his leaf blower, just hours before he died. He had a dance class scheduled for the next day and had just talked for hours with his friend. He was just going about his daily stuff and – he died. I don’t know when my time will come, but I have a limited amount of time on this Earth (as we all do). It’s best, if we can, to live our lives with this fact in mind. Not so we can get depressed, but so we can take advantage of the moment. Live our lives to seize the day! Carpe Diem! Ok, ok, this isn’t always going to happen – in fact as I write this, I’m depressed as hell. But regardless, I put together a playlist of songs that might help us to remember. Songs for Today, hopefully, will remind us to live our lives as best as we can.
Songs for Today features songs that highlight the good times. Runnin’ Down A Dream by Tom Petty and Under the Milky Way by The Church. There are also songs about the bad times. One More Minute by “Weird Al” Yankovic and I Live With It Every Day by BNL. Mostly, though, there are songs about seizing the day. Featuring Daft Punk, The Smiths, The Cure, Talking Heads, Foo Fighters, Smashing Pumpkins, Genesis, INXS, and so many more. Maybe, just maybe, this week’s playlist will inspire you to put your best foot forward.

What’s this about more songs for today?
Yes, there IS a new featured article in the works. This will be the first one since I released a Cover vs Original on I Still Believe. So yeah, it’s been a while. I probably won’t release said featured article for a couple of weeks, as doing some serious long-form writing isn’t something one just does after three months. Heck, I’m having a hard time with this article – hence all the awkward sentences I didn’t clean up. But it’s coming, and the subject has to do with The Beatles’ best songs.
That’s all I got for you today. As always, rock on and rocksteady.
