Songs about Fruits and Vegetables

It’s the holidays – well, in a couple of days at least. That means a ton of food maybe. Most of it, not too healthy. Yes, with Thanksgiving, comes a full-on carb-fest of sides. And that’s just the beginning, depending on your family. So maybe, just maybe, between the mashed potatoes and stuffing, it might be a good idea to eat some fruits and vegetables. That’s why I composed this week’s playlist. Songs about Fruits and Vegetables is here to remind you there’s such a thing as Oranges and Green Beans and other healthy plant-based foods.

Don’t worry, this playlist isn’t full of kids’ songs. Yes, yes, I may have started out with the theme from Veggie Tales (I couldn’t resist), but there’s a ton of adult music. I’ve got Brian Wilson singing about Vegetables, Booker T jamming his Green Onions, and The Beatles forever singing about Strawberry fields. Prince sings about a Raspberry Beret, while Pink Martini sings about a Little Tomato. Little Richard, Nick Drake, The Flaming Lips, Pavement, Warrant, XTC, Harry Belafonte, Fats Domino, and many more. All singing about Fruits and vegetables. Or at least things named for said produce. I wonder if they grow a lot of blueberries on that hill.

Anyways, Happy Thanksgiving and enjoy songs about fruits and vegetables.

Remember the food pyramaid?

You know, the one that told us to eat ALL the carbs? What a terrible, terrible piece of government-sanctioned advice. But I digress. You probably want to know what’s going on with AudioPerfecta in the next few weeks. The truth is, I don’t know. I want to get a couple of articles written about Christmas music, but it will not be as much as I have in the past. Maybe a Holiday hall of shame. or another snowball fight. We’ll see. Of course, I’ll publish a couple of playlists as well. But this year will be scaled back a little โ€“ just because of life stuff.

But I will have a playlist next week! I don’t know what it will be, but come hell or highwater, there will be a playlist. So, come back next week, and maybe rock out, or country out or rap out or any other combo of genres I use out. Until then, rock on and rock steady.
