Some states are re-opening. I think it’s too soon, but whatever. My state is still on lockdown and that’s just fine by me. Regardless, a bunch of people all over the country are going back to work. That means you’ll be spending your late afternoons /early evenings stuck in traffic. Oh, what fun! Yeah, ok, maybe not so much fun. What might, however, make your commute a little fun is that perfect playlist. That’s what this week’s playlist, Music for Your Evening Commute, is all about.
Music for Your Evening Commute is full of songs that you’ll have no problem singing along to. From Peter Gabriel’s Solsbury Hill to Meat Loaf’s Paradise By The Dashboard Lights. From Get Off My Cloud by The Rolling Stones to Sabotage by The Beastie Boys. Of course, this week’s playlist also has some songs that will surely become new favorites. Songs by Ladytron, The Magnetic Fields, The Paper Kites, The Mountain Goats, and more. And, as a tribute, Good Golly, Miss Molly by the late Little Richard.
Stay safe as you commute, folks. You just spent two months at home, so don’t be in too much of a rush to get back. This week’s playlist is two hours long for a reason! And don’t forget to buckle up.
Did You Enjoy Music for Your Evening Commute?
If so, I would love to hear further from you. I’ve been doing a lot of what I like to call general playlists. I imagine myself as a radio DJ and filling the time slot allocated to me. In this case, it’s the afternoon drive time. Last week, it was the morning. Next week, I’m thinking about doing an Evening playlist. There might even be a weekend playlist coming your way sometime soon – we’ll see.
Speaking of the near future, this week’s featured article will review a handful of songs from the new Magnetic Fields album, entitled Quickies. Quickies comes out this Friday, and so does my review. While I won’t have time to listen to every song (there are 28 tracks), I will be able to hear a few and tell you my thoughts.
Have a great week, and see you Friday!
