I miss movies. I can’t wait until I can go to the movies again. Seriously, I might be ok with having to stay home all the time if I could just go to a movie theater every so often. I mean, I get it…this whole stay at home thing is really important and I’ll live without seeing my weekly movie. But dang, I still want a freaking movie night! And watching Mars Attacks for the umpteenth time last night doesn’t count! I want a new movie, with the smell of popcorn and the big giant soda and my Reeses Pieces snuck in and all the trimmings dang it! Ok, ok, I know. This is freaking necessary, but I miss the damned movies. Anyways, to help me cope, and maybe you, cope with a serious lack of movies, I’ve dedicated this week’s playlist to movies and music.
Movies and Music collects classic songs from a wide range of films. Every genre of movie is represented: western, comedy, animated, superhero, horror, py flicks, sci-fi, and of course, musicals. The big three composers of musical scores, Hans Zimmer, Danny Elfman, and John Williams, all make an appearance. Artists such as Garbage, Queen, Prince, U2, and the BeeGees also find themselves in the mix. We’ve got two songs from Batman movies, and four different James Bond movie themes.
Enjoy Movies and Music, and may we get to see a movie in theater soon!

More Movies and Music coming Friday.
My heart will go on after this crisis, as will yours. However, our hearts will need entertainment, and I plan on bringing some serious fun this Friday. A very special edition of Cover vs Original will take a look at the song My Heart Will Go on. There will be a few second wave covers, but in recent Cover vs Orginal articles, I’ve been avoiding the third wave covers altogether. Well, with My Heart Will Go on, there will be third wave covers. And they will be glorious!
A bit of sad news. Alan Merrill, the writer of “I Love Rock and Rol” died of COVID-19. I’m terrified to see who else this virus takes from us. RIP, Alan Merrill.
Stay safe, everyone.
