Everyday 90s Rock

Last week I started a new series of “Everyday Music” with my playlist, Everyday Pop. This week, I’m continuing the series with a playlist entitled Everyday 90s Rock. Why the 90s? Well, originally I had meant to do a rock playlist that wasn’t specific to any decade. However, as I started adding songs, I realized there was a ton from the 90s. I could do one of two things – eliminate half the songs so the playlist would not be so 90s heavy, or eliminate the handful of songs that were not from the 90s. I’m lazy, so I went with the easiest option!

So, what’s on this playlist? I did try to stay away from grunge, as some people really hate grunge. This is an everyday playlist after all – suitable for doing errands and picking up the kids and mowing the grass. I mostly included radio-friendly songs. Shine by Collective Soul, All I Want by Toad the Wet Sprocket, Good by Better than Ezra. There’s Girlfriend by Matthew Sweet, Hey Jealousy by Gin Blossoms, and Jane Says by Jane’s Addiction. STP, Foo Fighters, Blind Melon, Tripping Daisy, and more. Ok, so I did at least include one Soundgarden song. But who can resist Black Hole Sun?

Whatever your everyday activity, I hope it includes Everyday 90s Rock.

Do you want more Everyday Music!

Are you sick of these everyday playlists? Do you want more? I do intend to do several more, but I don’t have a timeline in line. I actually see them as a challenge, as most of my playlists are a bit eccentric and even eclectic. These Everyday playlists keep me focused on the listener, and not what I want the listener to hear. But with that same thought, I do want to listen to what the listeners say. Oh wow, what a mouthful. Side note, I hope one of my favorite record stores, Everyday Music, does not sue! Hah, I don’t think they will.

What else is coming down the pipes? Well, a lot – but I don’t know when. Again, my life has recently been turned upside down, so my time and energy to work on Audio Perfecta is limited. I promise though, more articles will happen soon. And I will keep up the weekly playlists. Oh, and remember the rockabilly playlist I’m working on? I decided to publish that around Father’s Day. I figure that’s a great time to pay tribute to my own father.

BVe safe and healthy everyone. And as always, rock on and rocksteady!
