    A Musical Sermon on Love

Today, instead of just sharing a bunch of songs, I am going to preach through a musical sermon. Today, we will discuss the topic of love. Not just romantic love mind you – but love in general. We desperately need more love and less hate in this world. Those of you who live in the US know how divided our country has become. I will try to avoid politics, but the division in this country has gotten stronger and stronger for decades now. We keep finding more and more things to wedge between us. I almost feel like group A is against anything that group B is for, and vice…

The super duper, these are my unemployed emotions playlist!

About a month ago I was laid off from a job that I had been at for nearly ten years. This is the first time in eighteen years I have been unemployed. A cornucopia of emotions hit me from the moment my now former boss broke the news to me. Some of these emotions are, of course, negative. A musical tribute to my mom – Shairi L Edwards

This playlist will be a different one. Today, July 21st, 2018 would have been my mom’s (Shairi L Edwards) 69th birthday. If you do not already know, my mom passed away last November after a long illness. The healing process has been long and difficult for both my dad and I, but this week has been particularly hard. This will, of course be the first birthday of hers since her death. Anyways – ever since her passing, I wondered what a tribute to her in writing might look like. I decided, that, as she greatly influenced my love for music – as music was also her passion, what better way…
