All Rise Mix! Get Psyched!

Kids, this mix is going to be legen – wait for it – dairy! Remember that episode of How I Met Your Mother? The one where the gang is cruising around in a limo on New Year’s Eve? Remember Barney’s “Get Psyched” mix? Well, I stole the idea for this mix from that episode. For those of you who are totally in the dark: While most mixes have a natural ebb and flow, an all rise mix will have nothing but rise. All the songs are up-tempo and awesome! None of the songs will be a sappy love ballad, no, this is a bunch of rock, power pop, and the like! This is musical awesomeness!

Like I said, this mix is inspired by the Get Psyched mix. What does that mean? Well, I don’t want to create a carbon copy of Barney’s original mix. Yeah, I use AC/DC’s “Thunderstruck” and Bon Jovi’s “You Gave Love a Bad Name.” But instead of Van Halen’s “Panama,” I use “Jump.” Instead of Billy Idol’s “Dancin’ With Myself,” I use his awesome cover of “Mony. Mony.” Instead of the theme from The Transformer’s Movie, I use “The Touch” by Stan Bush. I mean, that’s just a better choice. Oh, I also include Moby, because โ€“ well, if you’ve seen the episode, you’ll know why. Def Leppard, Pat Benatar, Heart, Ramones, The Knack, Rage Against the Machine, Twisted Sister, Quiet Riot, Blondie, Joan Jett, and so much more! I’m sure Barney Stinson would approve of this mix.

I dare you to not get psyched by the All Rise Mix! Happy New Year!

All Rise Mix

There’s no KISS in the All Rise Mix

Yeah, I totally omitted KISS. I didn’t use lick it up, because I think that’s kind of a weak, phoned-in song. I didn’t use another KISS song for a couple of reasons. One, I don’t like Gene Simmons. Two, I felt like the kiss at the end of the episode between Robin and Ted was kind of unnecessary. But that’s just my opinion.

2021 has been a wild year folks. Let’s hope 2022 is a much quieter and uneventful one. Happy New Year, and as always, Rock on and Rock Steady.
