Enchanted Music

This playlist has no real rhyme nor reason, other than the fact that I love each and every one of these songs. Ok, love might be the wrong word. Each of these songs produce a feeling so deep in my psyche that they produce an emotion I can’t quite describe. I almost feel like each of these songs have an otherworldly, etherial, and magical quality. I really only have one phrase to describe this playlist: Enchanted Music.

While these songs all produce an unknown emotion, I will say that emotion changes from song to song โ€“ as does my response. For instance, Berlin’s
“The Metro” or Joe Jackson’s “Stepin’ Out” transports my mind to a different place. “What a Fool Believes” by The Doobie Brothers and “The Things We Do For Love” by 10cc transport me to a different time. Sting’s live version of “Message in a Bottle” and “Possession” Sarah McLachlan transport me to a different astral plane! Some songs make me cry, such as “Rainbow Connection” and “Bridge Over Troubled Water.” Songs like Air’s “Cherry Blossom Girl” and “Be With You” by The Bangles makes me fall in love. Meanwhile, when U2’s “Red Hill Mining Town” or Joan Jett’s
“Bad Reputation” plays, my feelings manifest in spontaneous singing. These feelings and reacitons are just the tip of the iceberg for Enchanted Music. Check out all 45 songs below via Apple Music, YouTube, or Spotify.

Enchanted Music

All Music is Enchanted Music

Well, maybe not all music, but all music worth a damn is enchanted music. Still, these songs have a bit more of an “enchantment” than the standard rock and roll song. Compare, say, “Time Of The Season” by The Zombies with another song from the same year, StephenWolf’s “Born To Be Wild.” I consider both songs as rock classics. Still, ‘Born To Be Wild” lacks the transcendence of “Time Of The Season” Granted, this is a personal perspective and your milage may vary. You might not think Roxette’s “The Look” deserves a spot on this playlist. Maybe you would prefer something with stronger vocals and less rock. But I digress! I hope you enjoy this playlist. It truly is a personal playlist for me. What would you put on your Enchanted Music playlist? Let me know below.

By the way, on my last playlist I mentioned I was working on an article for my other website. Earlier this week I published an article all about Disability Pride Month. Go check it out!

Until next time, rock on and rock steady!
